Timothy Nigel Firth has been appointed managing director of Scotts Motor Services (Keighley) Ltd, succeeding his father John Firth, who has become chairman. The move follows the death last year of Sidney Harold Granger, aged 91. He was one of the founders of the company in 1935.

Timothy was educated at Ermysteds GS in Skipton and obtained a National Diploma in Funeral Direct-ing. He has been the firm's funeral director and chauffeur drive operations manager for the last 10 years. His father, John, has been with the firm since 1966.

Scotts, based in Dalton Lane, have diversified over the years and become accepted as one of the top chauffeur drive companies in the north.

They provide a chauffeur driven service throughout the north, all operated from the central office in Keighley, and are partners with Burgess Ford in the operation of a Budget Car and Van Rental franchise.

Scotts also provide a friendly and professional funeral service at their Riverside Chapel of Rest, and are now one of only two independent funeral directors in Keighley.

They also have two subsidiary companies, Blezard and Scotts funeral directors of Windermere, form-ed in 1992, and JayCee Enterprises, specialising in travel and publishing, formed in 1996.
