Fly-posters have threatened Keighley's chances in this year's Britain in Bloom competition. Illegal posters appeared round the town centre this week as Britain in Bloom judges arrived to check out the town.
Traders say they are angry and disappointed and have called on the police to find the culprits. Keighley Town Centre Partnership, which is made up of traders, council departments and other local agencies, believes the posters are from town centre leisure businesses.
Chairman Mike Millbank says a lot of time and money has been spent in recent years ridding Keighley town centre of flyposting and graffiti. He adds: "This fresh spate is particularly annoying as it came on the day Keighley was being judged. We have already contacted the police and we are determined to find out who is responsible and charge them clean-up costs."
