Steeton'S run of three consecutive victories was brought to a halt by Bilton, but they still had the better of their drawn game.

The third placed side scored 220-9 with Alex Howarth leading the way on 74.

Bilton hit back but could only reach 177-7 to leave Steeton picking up the Lion's share of the points.

The Keighley Road team is having a nightmare season and are desperate for some inspiration, particularly in the batting department. Opener Hugh Sugden lost his wicket with four on the board and the collapse continued with all the leading batsmen being caught as they tried to force the pace.

John Akrigg top scored on 34 before falling to a similar fate while Tim Sugden and Dave Short were stumped.

n Silsden 2nds pulled defeat from the jaws of victory in contriving to lose at Tong Park.

The home side batted first and posted a total of 198-8, largely thanks to some big hitting at the end of their innings by Shepherd (43 not out) as they added 72 in the last 10 overs.

Dave Baluk took four for 46 and Chris Walker three for 68.

Silsden got off to a flying start in reply with Stuart Tillotson (38) and Ian Sagar (65) taking up the challenge. At 165-4 with 17 overs left victory looked a certainty, but after Sagar went only Baluk (21 not out) realised that patience with the key.

They needed only three runs to win with five overs left when last man Mick Hardwick lofted a shot into square leg's hands and presented Tong Park with an unlikely victory.
