Oakworth were in cracking form as they rocked Haworth in an impressive derby encounter.

They climbed into second place, just a point behind Embsay after blasting the Bronte side out for 68. Kevin Hird and Graham Rankin took three wickets each.

The Cure Hill side cantered to an impressive 10 wicket victory with John Crossley adding another 35 not out to his averages.

Long Lee slipped to fourth after losing away to fifth placed Pendle Forest. The Fence side posted 174, Peter Atkinson making 47. The Keighley side were brushed aside for 108 as James Thackray claimed 5-42.

Thornton are third after seeing off bottom side Cowling by 85 runs at Booth Bridge Lane. The homesters rattled up 188 with Ian Clarkson scoring 55 and Nick Paxton 43. The visitors reply petered out at 103 as Stephen Lodge claimed 5-39.

Sutton stole a march on hosts Bradley, Paul Hardaker 71 and a crucial 35no from Jimmy McCormack saw the visitors to 178-7. The latter then took 5-51 to restrict the homesters to 144, Chris Simpson scoring 41.

Top club Embsay were made to work hard for the points by visitors Skipton CI. Batting first the Sandylands side made a creditable 162-7 with Ian Burk making 42, Nick Williamson 41 and Mark Chisnall 32, Simon Holt's spinners taking 4-32. Duncan Bullough 46 and David Robinson 42 lead the successful reply that reached its goal in the 44th over.

Barrowford pocketed three valuable points at Carleton. Liam Roberts 59 and Chris Foster 50 helped the Bull Home side to 199-7. In reply the villagers could only muster 113 of which John Wrathmell made 54.

Joint leaders of the Second Division, Denholme and Haworth West End were in good form.

Denholme travelled to Airedale and shot them out for 92 with R Binns taking 5-21. Gareth Marshall 61no was the star of the visitors' reply.

Colin Bottomley scored a fine 83no as Ingrow St John's reached 163-8 away to Haworth West End. The Penistone Park side galloped to a splendid seven-wicket win, Andy Parker top scoring with 63no. The Saints remain in third spot but now have Foulridge breathing down their necks just a point behind.

The Noyna side entertained Glusburn and had them back in the pavillion for 136, Craig Watts making 54 as new recruit M Nawaz took 5-28 and T Stephenson 4-44. Nawaz top scored with 31 as the homesters got home by four wickets.

Steve Procter scored 74 for Chatburn as they saw off Barnoldswick III by 120 runs.

Gargrave's Richard Moon took 7-27 as visitors Keighley Tech crashed to 56. The home side cantered home by nine wickets.

No 10 man J Walker 43 and extras with 33 saw Cononley to 199 at home to J Nelson's. However, sound batting saw the Red Rose side to a three wicket win with nine overs to spare.

There was great joy at Sandylands as Skipton CI took away the only unbeaten status of leaders Embsay. The home side posted a modest 130-8. Ian Holden made 36 and Neil Robson took 3-9. The out of sorts leaders could only make 113 in reply. Fine bowling by Stephen Davidson 7-55 in 21 overs backed up by Holden 3-55 did the damage.

Bradley jump into second spot after recording their fifth consecutive victory at Sutton. Nigel Bibby 40 helped the visitors to 136 as Chris Airey claimed 5-24. In reply the 10 man home side were dismissed for 66 as Ashley Walmsley and Michael Riddiough had returns of 4-22.

Thornton slip to third after coming unstuck at Glusburn. Colin Ridehalgh 6-61 hustled them out for 138, 15-year-old Simon Bailey making 42. S Hussain made 43 not out in the homesters successful six wicket win.

Pendle Forest drop down to fifth after a dramatic finish at Long Lee. Martin Stables 6-53 had the Fence side back in the hut for 97. The Keighley side were staring defeat in the face at 82-9 but a splendid partnership of 20 by D Brown who finished on 46no and Mick Hogan pulled off a fine win. Peter Jones finished with 6-38 as Long Lee jumped into fourth spot.

Barrowford were too strong for Chatburn, winning by 78 runs, Kevin Parkinson 79 and Stuart Hargreaves taking 6-43.

At Cure Hill, Oakworth crashed 222-8 at home to Haworth, David Brunskill 52 and Steve Hartley 41 being the main run-getters. The Bronte side were dismissed for 106, Gary Mason and Andrew Dawson taking four wickets each.

In the Fourth Division leaders Denholme and Pendle Forest III maintained their winning ways.

Denholme easily accounted for Airedale by eight wickets despite 54 from A Loftus for the losers.

Veteran David Hall made 69 to lead Pendle Forest III to a comfortable six wicket win at home to Carleton.

Ingrow St John's had no answer to Haworth West End's Denis Palmer who took 7-33, and lost by five wickets.

Foulridge crashed to 56 all out and an eight wicket defeat at Cowling.

Gargrave easily overcame Keighley Tech at Rose Cottage. Martyn Cox with 68 helped the visitors to 227-7 which proved to be 82 runs too good for the homesters.
