AHMED GULSHERAZ turned on a sparkling batting performance to put backbone into Keighley innings.

Coming in as a middle-order man he scored an impressive 60 as the Lawkholme side set Undercliffe a target of 162-6.

Australian Justin Ferguson opened the innings and scored 28 and after the wicket of fellow opener Lee Gordon was captured with 10 runs on the board he formed a valuable partnership with Stuart Ratcliffe to take the total on to 50 before the second wicket fell.

Dale Towler also got in the runs with 25 not out in the closing stages.

Off-spinner Jeremy Batty was the thorn in the side of the Keighley batting line-up, taking four for 35 as the second placed side lined up another victory.

Keighley desperately needed early wickets and when Ross Towler struck twice to dismiss both openers with the score in the 20's it looked as if they may have made the vital breakthrough, but Batty (49) took his side close to victory which was finally secured for the loss of five wickets.

Keighley 2nds claimed their second successive victory with an emphatic 10-wicket victory to complete the double over Undercliffe.

They got off to a dream start with a wicket off the first ball of the match but let the advantage slip as the home team recovered to a promising 82 for 1.

Keighley could have been forgiven for fearing the worst but Craig Ratcliffe, with a superb spell of persistent bowling, mopped up the rest of the batters. Ratcliffe claimed seven for 43 off 17 overs.

Birkett and Ali claimed a wicket each and an excellent run out from Peter Smith completed the collapse of nine wickets for only 30 runs finishing on 112 all out.

The Undercliffe attack never threatened Keighley's reply and Alan Broadley (44) and Andy Benson (56) steered Keighley home to a rare 10- wicket victory inside 20 overs.

Keighley will hope to carry on the recent form in to a double weekend against Manningham Mills and Hartshead Moor on Saturday and Sunday.
