Bradford planners - the Metropolitan Council's Developement Control Panel - went to the former Park Avenue football ground today to see the area at first hand before deciding the ground's future use. At its next meeting the panel will consider proposals for a cycle-track, greyhound racing and possibly speedway. The promoter Brian Osborne told the Panel members of the new type of exhaust silencers which comply with noise restrictions.

A call to clean up several public houses in the centre of Bradford to stop dipping used glasses in water-cum-beer, and to use acknowledged spirit measures is answered today by a number of Bradford licensees, and the president of the Bradford Licensed Victuallers Association, Mr Frank Slater. Mr Slater states that the matter is in the hands of the public themselves. "The public are not compelled to drink in houses where they receive dirty glasses and smaller measures of spirits," he said.
