A ten-year-old boy with a brain tumour has raised more than £4,000 for charity.
Daniel Wilkinson, of Monkmans Wharfe, Silsden, was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour in March after he was admitted to Airedale Hospital for violent vomiting. But instead of letting the illness take over completely, the Hothfield Junior School pupil decided to do what he could to help others with similar conditions.
He has since raised £4,100 for Andrea's Gift, a registered charity which works in conjunction with Leeds Teaching Hospitals to raise awareness of childhood and adult brain tumours, fund research and provide support to people across Yorkshire.
Daniel charged his bedside visitors £1 to have a cup of tea with him and got family, friends and local businesses, including Skipton Building Society, to donate money and organise fundraising activities, such as balloon races and cake stalls.
Daniel has already undergone surgery and radiotherapy on the tumour at both St James's Hospital and Leeds General Infirmary. He will start a lengthy course of chemotherapy in three weeks.
Mother Tracey said: "He's struggling a bit but this fundraising is keeping his and our spirits up. It's keeping him quite busy and gives us a positive focus."
She added: "We have one or two other things in mind to raise more money but we're going to see how the chemotherapy goes first."
