A murder inquiry is under way after a death in Ealing.

Police were called at around 8.25pm on Thursday, March 16, when they recieved reports that a man had been seriously injured in the Greenford Road.

Mayooran Mahendrarajah, 22, of Rose Gardens, Southall, was taken by ambulance to New Ealing Hospital, where he died a few hours later.

He had been assaulted while out with a friend. Police said they had been walking along an alleyway that runs from Greenford Road to a nearby supermarket when the incident happened, but could not confirm how or why he was attacked.

Three men arrested in connection with the murder on Monday, March 20, have been bailed pending further inquiries to return to a north London police station in April.

A post mortem on Friday at Uxbridge Mortuary gave the cause of death as head injuries.

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the Tesco Metro car park in Greenford on the day of the incident between 7.30pm and 8.30pm or who may have seen the victim in Greenford Road to call the incident room on 020 8358 0400, or crimestoppers anonnymously on 0800 555 111.
