Thackley boss Dave Morgan has told his side they must capitalise on their impressive win at Rainworth on Saturday when they host struggling Lincoln Moorlands Railway.

The Reds moved up to fourth in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division before last Saturday’s 5-1 win but they had not faced the quality of Rainworth in that sequence of games.

If there was any doubt about the recent improvement of the Dennyfield outfit, it was emphatically put to bed by that result.

Now Morgan has urged his squad to show consistency, saying: “The players have proved they can get results against the top sides so I have no worries on that.

“What has let us down is dropping points against teams below us so I will be reminding the lads of that before kick off on Saturday.”

Morgan added: “Rainworth can have no complaints about the scoreline last week and it was a good performance from us.

“The way we attacked, with pace and purpose, we looked like we could score every time and that against a team who are no mugs.

“There were a few from Armthorpe (who are third) there because their game had been called off and they were delighted that we had won.

“But I said to them that we would do the same to them.”

Neighbouring rivals Liversedge, who have won four matches on the trot, are without a game.

Silsden will also be restricted to a training-only Saturday after their Vodkat Premier Division home fixture against Bootle was shelved due to Keighley Cougars’ Challenge Cup tie at home to Toulouse.

Brighouse Town strengthened their grip on the leadership of the NCEL Division One with a midweek victory and will be seeking another maximum as they head to second-bottom Worsborough Bridge Athletic.

Neighbouring rivals Eccleshill United will have a keen interest in the outcome of Town’s game.

The Eagles, who host mid-table Bottesford Town, know if they win at home and Town win away they will move off the foot of the table.

Eccleshill are just one point behind Worsborough but have three games in hand.
