Youngsters at a Yeadon school raised more than £300 for Haiti with a ‘dress as you like day’ and a bun sale.
The event at Yeadon Westfield Junior School was organised after the children asked if they could raise money for the stricken country.
Teacher Mary Jaciuch, who runs the school council, said representatives from a number of the classes suggested fundraising for the appeal.
She said: “The children were talking about it and then in the council meeting the idea came from at least two or three classes that they thought we should raise some money for Haiti.”
