Walkabout Creature Veronica of Thingumajig Theatre helped paint the Marie Curie Hospice Bradford yellow as Marie Curie Cancer Care unveiled its annual Great Daffodil Appeal.
Marie Curie Cancer Care is asking everyone to help Paint the Town Yellow by wearing a daffodil pin during March as part of the appeal.
Veronica was joined by Marie Curie nurses Debbie Niland and Sonia Evans to ask the people of Bradford and district to make a donation to the charity in return for a daffodil pin.
The charity is hoping to raise £5 million throughout the month long UK appeal.
Debbie Niland said: “Every donation for a daffodil will help your local Marie Curie hospice Bradford, to provide expert care and a better quality of life, totally free, for patients with cancer and other illnesses.
“So please make a donation, wear a daffodil and help Marie Curie Cancer Care Paint the Town Yellow this March.”
Money raised from the appeal will provide more free nursing care for people with a terminal illness in their own home and the charity’s hospices.
There are lots of Great Daffodil Appeal fundraising events to get involved in locally as well as national events.
Tickets are still available for the annual Daffodil Ball for the Marie Curie Hospice which takes place at The Cedar Court Hotel, Bradford on Saturday, March 13. They cost £50 and are available from Brian Curran on (01274) 337036.
The hospice also holds its annual Daffodil Walk on Sunday. For an entry form or more information, call Brenda Doyle on (01274) 337035 or e-mail brenda.doyle@mariecurie.org. uk.
