An armed gang drove off with a cash machine they tore from the wall of a Bradford petrol station.
The raiders threatened terrified staff and customers during a robbery at the Murco Hare and Hounds Filling Station at Horton Bank Top shortly before 1am yesterday.
A number of staff and customers were in the garage’s Costcutter Express store when a black or dark green Toyota Emina pulled up on the forecourt and three men got out.
The suspects were all wearing dark clothing, had their faces covered and were carrying knives.
Two of the men went into the garage, where they made threats to the staff and customers and ordered them into the back of the premises.
Meanwhile, the third suspect placed a length of chain or wire around the ATM machine, positioned outside the shop, and attached the other end to the vehicle.
The suspects used the car to yank the cash machine from its mountings and loaded the ATM into the vehicle, which was driven away into Beacon Road.
The car was later found abandoned and burned out.
The cash machine was also recovered, but without its contents. It is not yet known how much money was in it.
Anyone who witnessed the robbery, or has any information about the suspects, is asked to contact Detective Inspector Ian Bryar, of Bradford South CID, on 0845 6060606, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
