Mystery surrounds the death of an elderly man whose body was found following a fire at a house in Keighley.
Police have said the fire was not being treated as suspicious and the cause of the man’s death was under investigation.
Officers were called to reports of a fire at the house in Coronation Way, Keighley, at 4.24pm yesterday, and a body was found.
Detective Inspector John Mountain, of Airedale and North Bradford CID, said there was nobody else in the house when the emergency services arrived. He said: “At this stage it appears to be non-suspicious and the investigation into the issues surrounding the death of the elderly gentleman are are ongoing.
“The police are liaising with fire brigade and the coroner’s office.”
The bungalow showed no outside signs of fire damage yesterday.
Neighbours looked on as the body was taken from the house yesterday evening. Police have not released the identity of the man.
