Three men have died in a road accident on the M62 last night.
The fatal crash happened at about 9.10pm when a Mitsubishi saloon car came off the carriageway and appeared to have collided with a nearside barrier near to junction 23 near Huddersfield on the westbound carriageway.
Three men in the vehicle, who are all from the Preston area, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The carriageway was closed by police and re-opened at 5am today.
Police have said the cause of the collision was under investigation but have appealed for anyone who saw what happened, or has any information about the incident, to contact the West Yorkshire Police Major Collision Enquiry Team on 01924 293047.
