A bus was in collision with two vans and the side of a building in Bradford city centre today.
Firefighters were working to free the bus driver, who had become trapped in his cab by his feet, for more than two hours during rush hour, and police cordons were put in place, closing Sunbridge Road off to traffic at its junction with Vincent Street.
There were not believed to have been any passengers on the bus, operated by First Bradford, at the time of the accident, shortly before 7am.
Firefighters from Bradford, Fairweather Green and Cleckheaton’s Major Rescue Unit and support attended the scene.
Gary McKelvey, station manager at Idle and Shipley, said: “The impact has pushed the driver’s cab over at the bottom and he has become trapped by his feet.
“A generator and cutting equipment is being used to cut part of the bus away and free him.”
