Bradford Grammar School pupil Georgie Henley has had a more interesting summer job than most girls her age… she’s been in Australia filming the third instalment in the blockbuster Narnia movie series.

Georgie, of Ilkley, who turned 14 last month, has been on the Gold Coast where she is filming for The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, the latest adaptation from CS Lewis’s much-loved series of children’s books.

She reprises the role of Lucy Pevensie which shot her to stardom after the first two movies, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe and Prince Caspian.

Georgie, a former pupil of Ilkley Upstagers theatrical school, has been out in Queensland where the movie is being shot.

Georgie and newcomer Will Poulter, who plays Edgar, this week met the Gold Coast region’s Premier Anna Bligh between shoots, and said they had been made to feel very welcome on the Coast.

Georgie told the local newspaper, the Bulletin: “We’ve been treated very well and everyone seems very excited to have us here. “It’s beautiful here.

“We’ve been around Main Beach but haven’t been to any of the theme parks yet.”

The Voyage of the Dawn Treader will begin shooting late next week at the huge set built at The Spit.

Exterior shots on board the ship will be filmed at Cleveland Point in September and interior shots inside the ship filmed at Warner Roadshow Studios.

Filming ends in November with the movie released in time for Christmas 2010.
