Police want to trace a group of youths whom they believed used mobile phones to film an attack in a Bradford street.

A man was assaulted with a hammer after a collision between two cars in Baslow Grove, Heaton. He was bundled into a third car which arrived at the scene – a dark-coloured S-registration Toyota Avensis.

He was then driven around West Yorkshire and attacked again before being freed in the Lidget Green area of Bradford hours later.

He was taken to hospital with serious cuts, bruises and a broken jaw.

Police are seeking a further three or four Asian men, along with the Toyota Avensis, and a group of younger Asian males who filmed the incident, on Saturday at 5.45pm, on their mobile phones.

Detective Inspector Steve Snow, of Bradford South CID, said: “The answer to this lies within the community. It is a very close-knit community and I know that people know what happened and who was involved.

“I appeal to their families to get them to come to us.

“This incident was a result of an ongoing dispute.

“We’re particularly interested in speaking to a group of younger Asian males who filmed the initial incident on mobile phones. You’re not in any trouble but we need to speak to you.”

He can be contacted at Bradford South CID on 0845 6060606 or call Crimestop-pers on 0800 555111.

  • Three men have been charged with kidnapping and wounding in connection with the incident.
