A group which prides itself on encouraging people to take up cycling has created a new kind of bike to attract new cyclists.
Crank It Up has a range of ‘wacky bikes’ which its uses in its fun sessions, but none more so unusual as their custom-made shopping trolley bike.
The bike comprises of the back end of a woman’s bike connected to a trolley, supplied by the Co-operative.
Crank It Up chairman Chris Evans said: “We are known for our wacky bikes and we are always looking for new and unusual bikes.
“It is a ladies bike so there’s no cross-bar as such, and you steer with the shopping trolley handle bars. It’s very popular because it’s so unusual.
“We use it in our fun cycling sessions, where we use our unusual bikes and it’s one of the bikes that can be just so much fun.”
Co-operative membership officer Linda Gomila said they were pleased to help.
