A 27-year-old Bradford man caught selling drugs 18 months ago has been spared a jail sentence.
Shezad Khalid, of Folkestone Street, Barkerend, admitted possessing heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply, supplying heroin and possessing £21 as criminal property.
Bradford Crown Court heard today that Khalid was seen by the Bradford District Drugs Team selling class A drugs from a car on July 3, 2007.
Nine wraps of the drugs were found in the vehicle, with the money and three mobile phones.
Khalid told officers he had a £250 drugs debt and was pestered by his dealer to sell the drugs to pay it off.
Tim Stead, Khalid’s barrister, said his client was a trainee telephonist who had stayed out of trouble in the 18 months since his arrest.
Khalid was sentenced to an 18-month community order with supervision and a 12-month drug rehabilitation requirement.
