CHILDREN at a Gravesham school have voted in favour of working harder after a mock election.
Thamesview Secondary School pupils took part in the election as part of their Personal and Social Education (PSE) lessons.
Year 8 pupils had to choose between three parties who were offering to run the school after a mystery virus had struck down the teachers.
The "Easy Life" party offered a shorter working day, no homework and no uniform, the "Hard Work" party offered a longer day, more homework and tougher penalties for breaking the rules while the "Status Quo" party wanted to leave the school unchanged.
Year 12 and 13 pupils presented the policies for all three parties to the voters.
Tthe Easy Life party clocked 20 votes, the Status Quo party got 37 votes, but the Hard Work party won with 63 votes.
