A series of roadshows will take place in Bradford to help teach the public more about recycling.
Bradford Council will be holding the four Green Carpet events at household waste recycling centres in Ilkley, Bradford, Keighley and Manningham.
Residents will be met by “green butlers” – members of the recycling team who will help with waste items and advise on how they can be recycled and reused.
Visitors can find out what the Council does with recycled materials once they have been collected – where they go and what then happens to them.
An expert composter from the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP) will be on hand to offer advice.
Coun Anne Hawkesworth, the executive member for environment and culture, said: “We get all sorts of unusual items deposited at our household waste recycling centres and this is an opportunity for people to find out more about how we can dispose of them in the best way.”
The events will take place between 9am and 4pm on Monday at Golden Butts Road in Ilkley, on Thursday, July 24, at Bowling Back Lane in Bradford, on Monday, July 28, at Royd Ings in Keighley and on Thursday, July 31, at Midland Road in Manningham.
