Tadulala to keep G-force at bay

Fit-again Semi Tadulala believes he can help keep Super League's most destructive strike partnership quiet tonight.

The Fijian winger returns from a dislocated shoulder to hand depleted Bulls a much-needed boost for their trip to St Helens.

It is no easy return, with Tadulala thrown straight back in opposite the competition's top scorer Ade Gardner, who has notched a prolific 21 tries so far.

Many of those have been laid on a plate by the guile and craft of stellar ex-Aussie Test centre Matt Gidley, with the duo currently the most menacing act around.

Robust Tadulala realises he and Shontayne Hape will come under inevitable pressure this evening, saying: "I played against Gidley back in Australia and we all know he is world class.

"He's now got a great partnership going with Gardner but I'm looking forward to the challenge against them.

"Give anyone too much space and they can do anything they want; players are only as good as you let them be but if you get your defensive line in front of them, they will crack.

"We know that and the way we defend with pressure should be able to rectify their threat. Me and Shonny are looking to give them some problems of their own."

Tadulala was in a purple patch himself before getting crocked against Leeds three weeks ago.

He had bagged 14 tries in his previous eight games to prove his own potency and is desperate to earn a new deal at Odsal. "That's what I want," said the 30-year-old.

"I love it here at Bradford and just want to concentrate on getting back into the action and carrying on from where I left off.

"For me, the way they are playing, there's no better match to come back for than St Helens away. Saints have hit some real form.

"We're in a bit of adversity with all these injuries but I think this is a good challenge for us.

"We have to stand up and be counted to get out of this situation and hopefully we'll do that at Knowsley Road."

C'mon Bulls.

A heck of a lot of poitive comments these days - the fans all seem to understand we can't win everything.

But passion makes up for it a bit. If the lads give 100%, and Long and Pryce get a slap or 2, then I am a happy man.

Halley won't play 9, Harris will and if you read the article mate it says Sam isn't playing either. Macca's got to put Carlile on and I say get him on before half time and be bold! Whatever the outcome COME ON THE BULLS!!!!!

All 17 should go at it 100% and see what happens, you never know it may shock saints a bit. Some big hits from Joe, Koppy and Feather and hit tubby cunnigham from the off!

Good to see a bit of positive input from us all!

Come on you Bulls!

He ain't that good?? We'd better not give him a sniff or it's a try. Craven is wrong to say most of his trys have been laid on a plate by Gidley.(this T&A reporter seems to make it up as he goes along)Gardner is a great opportunist and is especially good at taking Longs high kicks to the corner. He is fast strong and scores trys for fun and you say he aint that good?? Wish we had him..Oh and he is one of the guys wo came from a lower league and did make it in S/L

If we play with the same spirit as what donny did last night then we stand a chance of winning, if we play like Batley did then they will put 50 past us. Hit cunningham, roby , Long & Pryce hard and leagal and let them know we mean business. Pryce hate a shoulder in the ribs but don't go too high on Cunningham he will brush you aside

Gumshoe, Queensbury says...
4:50pm Fri 13 Jun 08

Haitch, he has never really excelled against us over the years and I agree he is good/lucky with taking Longs kicks but we need to prevent Long from doing this tonight anyway!

Hit Gardner hard, he dont like it like Leon and we must stop them offloading and quick plays, that is vital but it will depend upon ref and his view on lying on I suppose!

MadbullMick, All Over says...
5:36pm Fri 13 Jun 08

Wrap Leon Pryce up or his offload game will kill us.

I just wanna see a good effort from the Boys.

David L, Toronto says...

I'd like to win, but more importantly for me, just want 100% effort, and don't think thats been happening with all 17...should be an interesting scoreline, and perhaps a few eyebrows raised.
COME ON YOU BULLS....Just a warning macca, be careful when Saints score, cos they do score in 2's and 3's...keep on your guard....!!!!

David L, Toronto says...

They need to sort the disipline and and fittness other wise the committment was there.
though why bring the young hooker on with 8 mins left and the game gone should have brought him on sooner

and why give Matt James only 15 and make fat Joe do about 60?

Because Macca hasn't got a clue

Good effort from the boys none the less.

10/10 for effort. They were never going to win but performed really well. No side could survive such a penalty count and once again Silverwood/Ganson caned the Bulls whilst seemingly Saints could do no wrong. Bulls will have to work hard re the offside rule as it appears whilst others get away with encroachment the Bulls will not. I can't think of a way you can get off an opponent if he's hanging on to your head (Talau on Finnegan) but Mr. Silverwood seems to think you should and penalisd the Bulls again. It would be foolish to blame everything on the officials. Two kick-offs straight out and Shontayns failure to pass to Jefferies but instead an awful pass outside to Tadulala sums up the Bulls night. Even with the missing guys back, the Bulls do need a real leader on the field. Saints had many. But the effort was there and for much of the game it was great to watch.
