A woman had a lucky escape after her car careered into a house.
Firefighters from Illingworth were called to the scene in Heath Moor Road at the back of their station just after 5pm yesterday.
Firecrews made the incident safe and called for a structural engineer to inspect the damaged home.
A fire spokesman said: "She was lucky she didn't fracture a gas pipe in the house."
The driver escaped with just shock - no one was believed to be in the house at the time.
