Industrial accident victim named

A 49-year-old Bradford man who died last week after becoming trapped in machinery at a printing firm has been named.

William Henry Aveyard was killed during the incident at the Bezier group in Wakefield shortly after 9pm last Thursday.

Police and firefighters were called to reports of an industrial accident and a spokesman confirmed the 49-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

An inquest into the death was due to be opened today in Wakefield.

The police and the Health and Safety Executive are also looking into the incident.

The Bezier group is a retail marketing agency and has two sites in Wakefield. The firm has contracts with Asda, Argos, Boots, Coca-Cola Enterprises, Imperial Tobacco, Homebase and KFC.

Following Mr Aveyard's death, a spokesman for the company said: "We express great sorrow at the loss of our colleague and we are currently working with the authorities to establish the cause of the incident.
