Your old coffee table or kitchen appliance has the potential to save a life, according to the British Heart Foundation, which has started a campaign to find furniture heroes in Bradford.
The heart charity is calling for residents to take their old furniture from zero to hero by having a spring and donating any unwanted items to the BHF Furniture and Electrical Store, in Westgate.
Bradford BHF Furniture and Electrical area manager Terence Potts said: "Most people don't realise that that their old furniture or appliances could actually be a heart patient's hero in disguise.
"Instead of gathering dust, your coffee table could be helping to fund a heart nurse for someone recovering from a heart attack."
A vigorous spring clean can also benefit Bradford's residents' own heart health by getting them physically active, says BHF cardiac nurse June Davison.
"A good spring clean can be part of your 30-a-day," she said.
"The milder weather is a great excuse to shake out your feather duvets, mop the floors and clear out the cupboards."
BHF Furniture and Electrical Stores are in need of a range of high-quality household items including sofas, armchairs, dining tables and chairs, wardrobes, beds, televisions, washing machines, fridges and ovens.
