Check out Siddique's tartan in the Granite city

5:08pm Tuesday 25th March 2008

Nadeem Siddique will take to the ring in a kilt in Scotland on Saturday.

The unbeaten Bradford lightweight has been added to the undercard when Aberdeen favourite Lee McAllister fights in his home city.

And Siddique will provide an authentic touch by donning the traditional garb before his six-rounder in the Granite city.

He said: "Lee's dad has sorted me out with my own kilt. I'm thinking of starting my own clan!"

Siddique, who will face Frenchman Salaheddine Sarhani, is just delighted to get a piece of the action after the weekend show in Nottingham, where he was meant to be fighting, was postponed.

That has been re-arranged for May 10, when Siddique will appear again, but he is grateful the late offer to box in Scotland ensured nine weeks of hard work in the gym has not been wasted.

"I'm so confident after training one on one with Junior Witter," he added.

"I've learned so much working alongside a world champion and can't wait to get in the ring and demonstrate what I can do.

"I've got a good fan base in Yorkshire and there is already a coachload coming up to support me, which is brilliant. That just gives me the extra incentive to put on a show.

"I'm in line to box the winner of John Murray's fight with John Fewkes for the English title, and I'm also in there for a shot at the British.

"At long last, this is going to be my time."
