Our confidence remains intact

8:09pm Sunday 23rd March 2008

The only good thing to come from the loss at Leeds is that we don't have a full week to hang around before getting onto the field again.

Because of Easter, it's a quick turnaround so Harlequins are here at Odsal tomorrow evening and the boys are desperate to start making up for what happened at Headingley.

They really are raring to go. We are disappointed with ourselves after that defeat. We'd gone in on the back of a couple of good results and were just starting to put a few good things together.

But we went to Headingley and didn't perform even half as well as we could, turning up against a Leeds side who were red-hot. Put the two together and you end up with that result we saw on Thursday night.

You are only as good as your last performance and we know that but confidence won't be a problem. It hasn't affected us like that.

If we'd have played as well as we possibly could and still got smashed by Leeds then that would have knocked our confidence.

But we didn't produce and we know there's so much more to come. Hopefully we can switch gears tomorrow against Harlequins.

Some people are saying how amazing Leeds are after the other night but I don't think they are necessarily any better than anyone else.

They are playing some really good rugby league and are definitely the team to beat at the minute but they are not out on their own and there is still a long season ahead.

I'm just awaiting some results on the scan on my hip but hopefully I'm going to be back playing myself sooner rather than later.

The specialist reckons I might be able to put off any surgery until the end of the season and now I just want to get back and do what I can for the team.

We get paid to play rugby, not to sit on the sidelines.
