An elderly woman died because her health deteriorated after an operation at Bradford Royal Infirmary, an inquest was told.
Bradford Coroner's Court heard today how Taro Saini, 64, of Bierley House Avenue in Bradford, had Hartman's Procedure, a bowel resection with a colostomy, at the hospital in November, 2005.
Consultant surgeon Jonathan Ausobsky told the hearing Mrs Saini was re-admitted to the hospital in December, 2006, with diarrhoea, vomiting and pain, and had an operation to reverse the procedure.
But Mrs Saini suffered multi-organ failure and died on August 7, 2007.
A post-mortem revealed death was due to an ischaemic bowel and bronchopneumonia.
Recording a verdict of death from natural causes, Coroner Roger Whittaker said there was no criticism of any of the surgery involved and that every effort had been made to improve Mrs Saini's health.
