6:42am Sunday 9th March 2008

A Shipley software company specialising in energy and environmental monitoring has raised £1 million in funding for product development.

REM Probe, which was established two years ago by managing director Kelvin Ager, has developed REM Enterprise, a system that allows large companies to manage and monitor their energy consumption.

The system analyses data from thousands of sensors to show the changing environment every one of a company's offices, branches, stores and installations.

The funding has been raised from Partnership Investment Finance and Yorkshire and Humber Equity Fund, managed by YFM Venture Finance.

It will be used by the company, which employs 15 staff, to further develop its software systems as it rolls out its services in the marketplace.

Mr Ager said: "The market is just right for the sort of solutions REM Probe is offering and we already have several clients among the larger financial institutions and Government departments."
