People will soon be able to take advantage of a high-speed internet connection in a town hall.

Following refurbishment of two rooms in Silsden town hall last year, organisations will now be able to bring more services to residents by accessing Bradford Council's Intranet from within the chambers.

Craven ward councillor Adrian Naylor said: "The aim is to get more services to Silsden. The town hall is not used as much as it could be and this enables it to be used more."

People will also be able to sit and use the £17,000 Internet connection, provided by Airedale Partner-ship, in the warmth as the town hall is also having a new boiler installed.

The previous boiler broke down in October last year, which has left the hall without proper heating.

Coun Naylor said: "The old boiler wasn't capable of doing the job anymore but we should have the new one in this week.

"The replacement has cost approximately £35,000 and the funding has been secured by Bradford Council."

"and use the £17,000 Internet connection"

Sounds like everyone should be there using it if it cost that much unless of course T&A is referring to a very expensive boiler

Did not spot that Albion. Am even more disgusted. Presumably someone at the Council believes £17,000 for internet access is value for ratepayers money?
