Charity plea to runners

A major charity is looking for Bradford people to pound the streets on its behalf in the Great North Run.

Meningitis UK has places for people to join its team in Newcastle on October 5.

Funds raised will help it in its work to a vaccine to eradicate all forms of meningitis.

Meningitis and meningococcal septicaemia affect thousands of people in the UK every year and kill more children under five than any other infectious disease.

The charity wants to raise £7 million over the next seven years to help its research work succeed.

Everyone who runs for Meningitis UK will be part of the Meningitis Musketeers team, with the motto All 4 One and One 4 All' - to highlight the devastating fact that meningitis can kill in under four hours.

Full support will be given and everyone who takes part will get a free Search 4 a Vaccine running vest or T-shirt, and an information pack including hints and tips on how to prepare.
