Firefighters tackle lorry fire near M62
FIREFIGHTERS put out a lorry fire when the vehicle burst into flames near the M62.
The Heavy Goods Vehicle's engine caught fire at 8pm last night near Junction 27.
The lorry pulled into a layby near Showcase Cinema, in Birstall, and the driver phoned 999 when he spotted smoke coming from underneath the bonnet.
A crew each from Cleckheaton and Dewsbury were called to the scene and spent an hour dealing with the blaze.
