Westwood Park produced the shock of the day as they bundled high-flying Oakenshaw out of the Bradford Sunday Alliance League SENIOR CUP.

With league action put on hold to accommodate various knockout competitions, the second-placed Premier Division outfit's progress appeared a formality.

But Westwood, without a win in Division One, booked their passage to the second round as Peter Ellis's early goal set them on the way to a 3-1 home victory.

Wally Olibapo equalised for Oakenshaw but Alan Bentley and man of the match Mark Price ensured the surprise result.

Wyke Wanderers went close to emulating that outcome as a team containing six 17-year-olds pushed Bolton Woods all the way before bowing out 3-2.

Paul Gott and Brett Missin gave Wanderers a two-goal cushion but Ryan Wood pulled one back before the break and his side turned the tables late on through Matty Addy and Chris Cookson.

Another Division One versus Premier tie saw Wrose Bull miss out 3-0 at home to higher-ranked West Bowling, who had 44-year-old defender John Hudson directing operations in an otherwise youthful team.

Chris Wood and Darren Storey were among the scorers as 17-year-old Bull goalkeeper Ivan Willis proved a tricky obstacle to get past.

Division One high-fliers Relay Recruitment took the lead at home to Premier opponents Ventus Sports through Abbas Sadeghian, only to concede two late goals.

Wayne Campbell equalised in the 83rd minute and Jason Davies supplied the winner for Ventus with seconds remaining.

The Hannah brothers were in goal-scoring mood for Division One leaders Bradford Irish Club at section strugglers Ring o' Bells Shipley, with Anthony hitting a brace and sibling Chris also on target in a 6-2 win.

Another match featuring eight goals came at Dudley Hill Rangers but, unfortunately for the Division One side, Premier visitors Albion Sports got all of them.

Kevin Towley, Nickey Hird and Connor Taylor each bagged a brace, with Taj Singh and Carl Hall completing the tally.

The only first-round tie to go to extra time was the goalless affair between Eastward and Prune Park. An extra half hour could not separate them but higher-ranked Prune Park held their nerve in the penalty shoot-out.

In the second round, renowned cup fighters Bradford Park Avenue Rangers edged out Queensbury 3-2 in an all-Premier Division tie.

Andy Shuttleworth struck twice for the visitors but Adam Junes (2) and Andy Benjamin booked Rangers' progress.

INTERMEDIATE CUP holders White Eagles logged a comfortable 8-2 victory over Junction Thornbury in the first round of their defence, with Leon Reed and Alex Nesovic both netting at the double.

Cuedos Rangers must have been looking forward to round two as they moved four goals ahead at home to Saltaire Rangers, with Chris Durn scoring twice.

But George Alberto notched a second-half treble for the visitors and further goals from Brent Netzler and John Cunnington completed an amazing 5-4 Saltaire win.

Danny Steele hit a hat-trick for Baildon Trinity Athletic as they thrashed Druids Allerton 7-0, while Andy Fieldhouse matched that feat for Royal Clayton in their 3-2 success at Gaping Goose.

Greens keeper Jonathan Eyres was in terrific form but even his heroics could not prevent a 3-0 win for Mill Lane A.

Paul Myers hit a last-minute equaliser for George & Dragon against Daisy Hill and, after a goalless extra period, team-mate Shane Callaghan saved two penalties as his side edged through.

Woodbottom were locked at three goals apiece with visiting Otley Road at the end of 90 minutes but Richard Ogden's second of the game gave a 4-3 win to the hosts.

The second-round match between Britannia Shipley and Albion Sports Reserves also needed overtime, when goals by Arron Parsons, Adam Toulmin and Dean Mitchell secured Britannia a 5-2 victory.

Michael Stowell struck four goals as Mail Coach hammered hapless Salthorn 21-0 in the AMATEUR CUP.

There were also hat-tricks for Johnny Hart and Jimmy Penn as Coach cruised into the second round.

Another first-round encounter saw New Tyke Rangers visit Shoulder of Mutton and edge a 3-2 outcome.

Michael Simmons, Jamie Sharpe and Mathew Harris were the men on target for Rangers.

In the second round, Lord Clyde were making comfortable progress as they moved 3-0 up at Bradford Phoenix but suddenly it all went pear-shaped.

Five goals in 20 minutes from Anthony Lovell (2), John Cullen (2) and Craig Kendall enabled the hosts to emerge 5-3 winners.

Mill Lane Reseves sauntered to a 4-0 home victory over Wrose Albion as Michael Ratnik, Mark Carter, Luke Wilcock and Tony Mitchell found the net.

Dave Dixon and Michael McCabe were the scorers for Aire Athletic but they could not prevent a 3-2 home defeat to Ring o' Bells Shipley Reserves after a closely-fought encounter.
