A WOMAN who was injured after being hit by a traffic light in Bradford city centre earlier this month has died, police have said.

Janet Kaywood, 58, from Bradford, died in hospital following the collision in Barry Street at the junction with Sunbridge Road on Friday, August 3.

A silver Mercedes-Benz C180 mounted the pavement and hit a traffic light, which fell on Ms Kaywood fatally injuring her.

The crash happened just after 12.40pm on August 3, and police have renewed an appeal for witnesses to the crash or the manner the car was being driven in following Ms Kaywood's tragic death.

Sergeant Ann Drury, of the Major Collision Enquiry Team, said: “Sadly, Ms Kaywood passed away in hospital last week following the collision earlier this month.

“We appealed for information at the time and are now renewing this appeal and asking that any witnesses please come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Major Collision Enquiry Team on 101, quoting log number 870 of August 3.
