Bradford City star Tyrell Robinson has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault.
Left back Robinson, 20, was arrested at Macclesfield Town's Moss Rose ground on Tuesday night.
Robinson was on the bench for the Bantams' Carabao Cup first round match away at Macclesfield, but was arrested by Cheshire Police on behalf of West Yorkshire Police.
As reported earlier this week, Robinson has been suspended by the club.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: "On the evening of Tuesday, August 14, Cheshire police officers arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of a serious sexual assault.
"The arrest, made on behalf of West Yorkshire Police, relates to an incident alleged to have taken place overnight on August 13-14 in the Bradford area."
