SALTAIRE Brewery's annual beer festival will return next month, promising two days of the industry’s top cask and keg beers, performances from local musicians and a range of street food.

Taking place on September 7 and 8, the event will be made all the more special with a festival beer created to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Alice Phillips, events and hospitality manager at Saltaire Brewery, said: “Our brewers have created a delicious, easy drinking festival special to raise money for the brilliant Cystic Fibrosis Trust, our charity of the year. Firefly is a light, hoppy and hazy cask beer which will be available throughout the festival and at an exclusive selection of venues following the event.

“Alongside the end of summer special, our bars will also be stocked by some of the UK’s most exciting breweries including Northern Monk, Wylam Brewery, Loka Polly, Marble Brewery and Thornbridge.

"With a mix of international and UK beers, we’ll be bringing our beer fans some exciting new drinks and several crowd favourites. Our aim is to bring the very best of cask and keg beers from across the market with four bars throughout the site.”

This year, Saltaire Brewery is bringing back the wine and prosecco bar as well as adding gin to the mix from top Yorkshire distilleries including Whittaker’s and Slingsby. There will also be a range of ciders available.

Four street vendors will also serve up tasty treats from around the world.

Alice added: “Great drinks accompanied by great food, what more could you want. We’re chuffed to be able to offer even more delicious food choices than ever before."

From 4.30pm on Friday and Saturday, live music will be played in the marquee kickstarting with acoustic sessions by local musicians and followed by back-to-back DJs sets until 10pm.

Ewen Gordon, managing director at Saltaire Brewery, said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming visitors from near and wide for our ninth Saltaire Beer Festival. With the annual Saltaire Festival on during the same weekend, the local area will be buzzing – there’s something on for everyone."

The Saltaire Beer Festival will take place at the brewery, Dockfield Road, Shipley, on Friday, September 7 from 2pm until 10pm and Saturday, September from 12 noon until 10pm.

Tickets cost £7 and include entry, a pint, programme and festival glass and can be purchased via Eventbrite, with a limited number available on the door.
