HARD-work certainly paid off for Charlotte Leakey is well on her way to achieving her ambition to become a vet.
The 18-year-old simply A-ced her exams achieved A* in geology and As in chemistry and biology and will be going to Glasgow University to study veterinary science.
The Canon Slade pupil said: "I have wanted to be a vet for a long time. I feel a lot of emotion getting these results.
"The night before I didn't reply to any text messages and I am a Christian I read the bible and kept myself in a bubble.
"I had to do ten weeks work experience as well as studying and doing my coursework so it has been hard, but doing in the course at Glasgow means I can practise any where in the world."
She added: "This year group has been great, we have come through school together starting in Year Seven and gone through the exams together."
