A house fire in Swanscombe this morning is being treated as "suspicious" according to firefighters.
Kent Fire and Rescue service was called to a house in Ames Road shortly after 4.15am.
One woman was taken to hospital after being treated by paramedics at the scene.
Four fire engines were sent to the terraced house where crews found smoke and flames coming from its doors and windows.
Firefighters had to wear breathing equipment while they tackled the fire, and a special vehicle was drafted in to make sure the flames did not spread to neighbouring houses.
Kent Police are investigating the fire.
