AN 18-YEAR-old man has been locked up for nine months for a string of burglaries and attempted burglaries in Bradford.
Reece Southern of Calderstone Avenue, Buttershaw, was sentenced over two dwelling burglaries on April 29, and attempted burglaries of two other houses where he was captured on CCTV trying the door handles.
Prosecutor David Ward told Bradford Crown Court that Southern entered houses on two nearby streets in Low Moor just after 7am and fled empty handed after being disturbed by the occupier in each case.
When CCTV footage in the area was reviewed, he was seen trying the door handle of a different property on the same street.
He was found guilty at a trial of these three offences, and pleaded guilty to another attempted burglary where his face was clearly shown on the CCTV footage.
Abdul Shakoor, for Southern, said he was determined on his release to get back on the “straight and narrow”.
