A CHURCH raising money for urgent roof repairs has installed a fundraising barometer to track its efforts.

Members of the congregation and the vicar at St Luke’s Church in Eccleshill have been working hard raising money for the new church roof since 2014.

They have raised almost £75,500 so far, and or more than halfway to the target of £150,000.

Parts of the roof have already been repaired, but much of the roof still requires work.

Fundraising events held at the church have included a Christmas Tree Festival, hosted by Duncan Preston, pictured.

An hymns and organ recital is being held on Saturday, August 18, from 7pm to 9.30pm in the latest fundraising effort to fix the 170-year-old church.

Tickets to the show can be bought by calling 01274 640157, or to donate to the appeal text SLRF18 followed by £1, £2, £5 or £10 to 70070.
