POLICE are appealling for witnesses after a woman was seriously injured in a collision in Bradford City Centre.

The collision occurred on Barry Street at its junction with Sunbridge Road at around 12:40pm on Friday.

A silver Mercedes C180 mounted the pavement and collided with a traffic light which was knocked over. 

The falling traffic light hit a 58-year-old female pedestrian who was stood nearby.

She was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the manner of driving of the vehicle prior to this collision or who witnessed the collision itself.
