CHILDREN will be able to learn a range of dog care skills at free Dogs Trust workshops at libraries across the Bradford district.
Laura-Jane Muscroft, from the charity, will show children how to look after dogs and will introduce her furry partner, Winnie, at 12 Gnasher and Friends workshops.
Visitors will learn everything from the amount of food and exercise a dog needs to the toys they enjoy and how important it is to microchip them in case they are ever lost.
They will also be able enjoy Dogs Trust-related story and craft activities.
The sessions tie in with Bradford Libraries’ Dennis and Gnasher Mischief Makers Summer Reading Challenge performances which are designed to inspire children to read.
Councillor Sarah Ferriby, Healthy People and Place portfolio holder, said: “These sessions will be great fun and anything which teaches children how to better care for dogs has to be a good thing.”
The events are for families with children up to 12 years old but places are limited.
Those attending are asked to bring a small donation of dog food or other non-perishable dog items for the Dog’s Trust.
Booking is essential -visit www.bradford.gov.uk/libraries for details.
