ALMOST 30 businesses and individuals from Bradford have been selected as finalists in the 7th English Asian Business Awards 2018 which take place on Monday.

Those shortlisted in 14 categories will gather for the glittering ceremony run by Oceanic Consulting Ltd which will be held at the International Suite at the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel.

Irfan Younis, CEO of Oceanic Consulting said: “The English Asian Business Awards continue to grow with more and more categories added every year showcasing just how notable the achievements of the Asian business community are in the current financial climate and this is exactly why we think it is so important to hold this awards ceremony and ensure deserving individuals and businesses are recognised.”

Shortlisted in the Organisers’ Business of the Year category is Regal Foods, of Wallis Street, Bradford.

The family-run business was the winner of the Power Business of the Year category at last year’s ceremony.

The company’s managing director Waqas Younis said: “We are really proud to be finalists for an award after our success last year. It is appreciated that we have been recognised and we have to thank everyone involved in Regal Foods for their hard work.”

Abeeda Malik, deputy CEO of QED Foundation said of her shortlisting for Woman of the Year: “I am delighted and pleased to be recognised for the work I do which is always a team effort.”

The Bradford companies and individuals shortlisted are: Small Retail Business of the Year - Artz-i; Convenience Retailer of the Year - Saveco; Best Food Establishment - Mother Hubbards, Icestone Gelato.

Woman of the Year - Adeeba Malik; Businesswoman of the Year - Gurmail Kaur; Micro Business of the Year - Locate Properties Ltd; New Business of the Year- Nitrogelato.

SME Business of the Year shortlists are Rajeev Accountants and Yeme Architects; International Business of the Year - Lubna Foods and Pet Brands (Birstall).

Creative Business of The Year shortlists are Maharaja Textiles; Lyons Of Bradford and Pasha.

Retail Business of the Year - Sign n Print; Berries Bagels & Shakes and Besaver.

Best Food Business - Queens Qulfi; Rising Star in Law - Balaal Khan, Afshan Hashmi.

Organisers’ Business Of The Year- Pegasus Motor Insurance, Faum Design, Pasha, Regal Foods, Whetley Mill Properties and Sign ‘n’ Print.
