DISCOUNTED tickets for the 2018 Keighley & District Agricultural Show on September 1 are now on sale.

Up to August 25, people can buy tickets online. And up to August 29 they can buy tickets alongside their shopping from any of a record 15 stores selling tickets on the organiser’s behalf, including from eight Co-op Food stores.

A spokesperson for the show’s organisers said: “We’re very pleased to get the support of the Co-op stores, which increases the options for people doing their shopping.”

The show has been at Marley Playing Fields off Aireworth Road, for 30 years since moving from its previous home in Victoria Park.

Organisers have released photos from the 1988 show, which was the first year it was held at Marley after three decades at Victoria Park.

The 1988 president was Walter Airey, who toured the show with his wife Rita and chairman Betty Denby.

Among the classes and exhibitions in 1988 which the show still features today, were snakes and sheep in the pet section, and a fun section for harnessed goats.
