SHOPS in a planned retail park have been granted longer Sunday opening hours by Bradford Council.
Last year Bradford Council granted planning permission for the construction of a Lidl and six shops at the former Union Mills site in Eccleshill (pictured).
Conditions included shops only being allowed to open between 10am and 6pm on Sunday.
ID Planning applied for permission to extend those hours for the two smallest units on the site. They argued that the shops would be newsagent sized, below the threshold of limited Sunday opening times, and so should be allowed to open from 7am to 11pm on Sundays.
Bradford Council’s Regulatory and Appeals Committee approved the change at a meeting on Thursday. They also approved extending delivery hours at the Lidl by an hour, allowing deliveries to start at 5am.
