COUNCILLORS will decide tomorrow whether to allow a housing development to be built on the grounds of a hall that dates back to the 16th century.

In 2016 UK Asset Resolution submitted a planning application to create 10 dwellings at Ryshworth Hall, off Keighley Road in Crossflatts.

The application will finally be decided by members of Bradford Council’s Regulatory and Appeals Committee, meeting in City Hall tomorrow.

The plans will see six new houses built, the conversion of a building on the grounds to create three new dwellings, and the conversion of another to form a single dwelling.

The development site is near the Grade II listed building, and near Crossflatts cricket club.

There has been 11 letters of objection to the plans and two letters of support.

The plans had originally included an extra four houses, but after objections from Historic England, they were dropped.

Officers have recommended the scheme for approval, and a report to the committee says: "The proposal is considered to represent a sustainable form of development and is acceptable in principle."
