A HORSE was rescued by firefighters after being almost completely submerged in a muddy bog.
Crews from Cleckheaton were called out to help after the 23-year-old animal was found stuck in mud after falling into a pond on Tuesday.
They cleared brambles, reeds and dug out a section of banking before they were able to pull the horse out.
The crew then slid the horse to a place of safety and carefully helped it back on to its hooves.
A spokesman said the horse was unharmed after the ordeal and safely back with its owner.
