A NATIONAL dessert chain has come to Bradford for the first time, bringing with it divine treats for the public to try.

Heavenly Desserts has branches across the country but it was welcomed to Bradford on Sunday for its opening by The Lord Mayor, Cllr Zafar Ali (above, front middle), and the Lady Mayoress.

The Dessert Diner, on Great Horton Road, serves a variety of sweet treats, including the traditional Victoria sponge and chocolate fondant, to the more diverse delicacies such as cookie dough and wafffles.

At the opening, The Lord Mayor was able to try his hand at luxury dessert making skills.

He said: “I’m delighted to see Heavenly Desserts come to the area and add something new to the local business environment. The fact that they are open into the evening brings a twist to the growing café culture in the area.”

The store will open at 12pm and close at midnight, seven days a week, as well as offering a Deliveroo service.

It has also brought 32 jobs to Bradford with intensive training leading to the staff members becoming “dessert artisans”.
