THE future of a medical centre in Barkerend will be discussed by Councillors tomorrow.

The Bradford City Primary Care Commissioning Committee will shortly be carrying out a review of the general medical service need within the community served by the Hillside Bridge Health Centre.

The current contract, which services a registered practice population of around 5,000 people, expires in March.

Tomorrow afternoon, Bradford Council’s Health and Social Care Overview and Scrutiny Committee will hear an update on the future of services from the centre.

Members will hear that the CCG will carry out a “service need and estate review” to determine the future provision of primary medical care within primary care home community serving the population around Hillside Bridge.

The committee meets in City Hall at 4.30pm.
