MICHAEL Collins' first game as City head coach ended in a late 2-1 defeat at Guiseley.

Six of the summer signings were on display at Nethermoor for the opening friendly as the Bantams fielded two completely different sides.

First-year pro Reece Powell headed them in front a minute into the second half from an Alex Jones cross.

But Guiseley were level midway through the half with a close-range finish from Will Hatfield.

And they claimed the spoils with two minutes left as Scott Smith fired a low angled shot past trialist keeper Ryan Huddart.

Richard O'Donnell, Joe Riley, Anthony O'Connor and Josh Wright were named from the start. Thomas Isherwood and Connor Wood came on for the second-half team.

Hope Akpan, Sherwin Seedorf, Jake Reeves, Tyrell Robinson, Nathaniel Knight-Percival and Omari Patrick were not involved.

There were no goals in an open first half - with City having the bulk of the chances. Josh Wright went the closest as he rattled the bar from 25 yards.

CITY: O’Donnell, Riley, O’Connor, Kilgallon, Chicksen, Farrar, Trialist, Wright, Gibson, McCartan, Wyke.

Second half: Trialist, Devine, McGowan, Isherwood, Wood, Hudson, Peters, Vincelot, Powell, Bruenker, Jones.
